The Quicksilver Series is a more casual line of snowshoes for less demanding recreational snowshoeing applications, however don't let the words casual and recreational fool you as this is still a performance snowshoe. Its high strength aluminum frame makes it very light: 41 ounces for the 25" model, and 46 ounces for the 30" model. Compare this to the 33 ounce racing model and you will notice it's not much heavier, living up to the Northern Lites name.In addition to its light weight, the Quick Silver features a great binding system and great traction. The bindings are Northern Lites Trutrack bindings which eliminate slipping between your boot and the snowshoe helping it track straighter and stay tight. TruTrak Bindings have proven to be the industry's straightest tracking without the need for toe baskets or heel pads. The frame and bindings work together to provide a very well balanced snowshoe with toes that tip-up naturally for easy walking and running, but not too much for backing out of tight spots. A secure, simple, easy to use binding (even with mittens on!). Toe and heel crampons are oversized with de-icing pads, and the exclusive perimeter cleats (placed around the entire snowshoe frame) provide unparalleled traction in deep snow.This snowshoe is a great choice for day hiking, trail walking, and light packing.Choosing the correct size: Snowshoe size is based on the weight they carry (user weight + gear carried).
